today I’d like to show you some more pictures from my sightseeing day in Nanjing. After walking down the Purple mountain we decided to visit Míng Xiào Líng, the is the tomb of the Hongwu Emperor, the founder of the Ming dynasty.
The way to the Tomb, the so called “Spirit way”, is lined with statues of animals …
and also with statues of military equipped men. Aside from this Spirit Way another way leads to the entrance of the Ming tomb. His gate leads to an inner courtyard, in which another building is located on top of a platform. Like many sites in China al buildings of the complex are located on one line leading from the entrance to the main building of the tomb.
In the centre is the Soul Tower – standing in front of the hill in which the emperor was buried. What is really amazing for me are the strong colours you find at all the old buildings in China.
Behind this immense building is the hill in which the emperor was buried.
The whole site is located in a area with other sites – the next and also last one we visited will be shown in my next post. Now I want to thank you for stopping by and
Have a wonderful time!
